A career that started in his native island of Trinidad & Tobago working in one of the top performing Studios that consistently delivered ground breaking hits; Precision Productions.
An assistant engineer to head producer/engineer Kasey Phillips, Ashwin trained for 3 years where he was involved in some of the major records from the Islands annual Carnival. He has worked with artists such as Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Charly Black, Konshens, Destra Garcia, Kes the Band, Voice, Busy Signal, T.O.K & Trinidad James. to name a few.
Ashwin’s work is best described as a hybrid of music from the Caribbean mixed with accents of commercial/mainstream elements.

Smash Productions Releases Santo Domingo Riddim for Trinidad 2018.
Whether you will be ‘whining slowʼ in between doing the merengue or dipping it low while you touch the road, one thing is for certain, la música es universal during the carnival season.
Smash Productions is pleased to announce the release of the Santo Domingo Riddim. Santo Domingo is an ambient, Soca infused music project with Reggaeton elements and an EDM vibe. London based, Trinidad & Tobago native, Smash Productions has long been a producer, lending his hand to many segments of the local music scene across the pond and here in the UK. Influenced by the camaraderie that often lends itself to all that flock to the greatest show on earth, Santo Domingo is a reflection of tourists and locals coming together as one to celebrate the joy that is carnival.
Flirting in between the weighted sub-bass, the melodic Santo Domingo Riddim delivers five groovy soca tunes for the upcoming 2018 soca. Featuring the works of Kimba Sorzano, the riddim invites us into the Sorzano experience with his alluring lyrics, emphasising his unmatched sex appeal. Whilst Prince Pronto seductively switches between Spanish and English serenading listeners with background vocals from Karyce Phillips & Juliana Corredor Leon. Jus D also delivers an up-tempo jam with singer and songwriter Xone bubbling to the fore with his own catchy version from the riddim. Displaying his signature tone and exemplary vocal range, M1 distinguishes himself from the pack by delivering lyrics that are sure set to capture listeners.
